Tim Hammond joined Seabury Group in February 2011 as Managing Director, Investment Banking in the London office with focus on aviation, infrastructure and other related areas of transportation. Mr. Hammond is a seasoned industry leader with more than 20 years experience in investment banking and corporate advisory roles within the aviation and infrastructure industries. Prior to joining Seabury, Mr. Hammond was Head of Transport & Infrastructure for Reynolds Partners and executed a variety of transactions including capital raising for business ventures and funds (BA’s subsidiary OpenSkies, $500M for GE’s Regional Airport fund), acquisitions (£2.1B acquisition of High Speed 1, £150M acquisition of Liverpool John Lennon Airport, $100M acquisition of Privatair) as well as advising on numerous strategic projects (BAA/ABI on airport regulation, SkyEurope on fund raising).
Prior to joining Reynolds Partners, Mr. Hammond was with General Electric as Senior Vice President and European Head of General Electric’s airport division. Mr. Hammond was responsible for the execution of new business ventures including mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and partnership deals. Most notably, Mr. Hammond led the efforts on the acquisition of Chicago’s Midway Airport.
Previous to his employment with General Electric, Mr. Hammond was a senior executive at British Airways (BA) as Head of Investments and Joint Ventures. Mr. Hammond spearheaded all BA’s mergers and acquisitions and investment activity. Mr. Hammond led the attempted acquisition of Iberia in conjunction with TPG, the sale of BA Connect to Flybe Limited, the sale of DBA to German investors, as well as the overall right-sizing BA’s portfolio by selling stakes in Opodo, the London Eye, Eurostar and WNS (BPR business in India).
Mr. Hammond also held investment banking roles at Merrill Lynch and NM Rothschild & Sons. He earned his undergraduate degree from Cambridge University.
