Jim Bohlman joined Seabury in 2011 as Managing Director. He is responsible for the firm’s Corporate Advisory division, Aviation Investment Banking & Restructuring practice and Consulting activities in the Americas. He brings over 20 years of management consulting and investment banking experience in a variety of industries, with a focus on aviation, aerospace and defense. He has restructured transactions exceeding US$7billion in aviation and A&D-related matters and has led numerous Aviation-related capital raise mandates. Additionally, he has led virtually every aspect of turnaround and performance improvement efforts for clients, and has advised sell-side and buy-side M&A clients on deal structuring, target assessment and post-acquisition matters for significant transactions in the aviation, aircraft leasing and A&D sectors.
Since joining Seabury, Mr. Bohlman has led significant supplier-side contract remediation efforts in aerospace, has assisted aerospace suppliers in achieving line-fit offerability, has advised private equity groups on consolidation strategy in aviation and has participated in several sell-side capital raise mandates for clients.
Previously, Mr. Bohlman was with Oliver Wyman Group as Partner and was also a Supervisory Principal with Oliver Wyman Transaction Services. While there, he led numerous cases related to operational and financial restructuring, strategy, business turnaround, contract negotiation, commercial workout, litigation support, M&A, and due diligence in the aviation, aerospace and defense sectors.
Prior to Oliver Wyman, Mr. Bohlman was a Senior Manager in Ernst & Young’s consulting division where he had numerous roles in its Aviation practice, including large account management and responsibility for commercializing the firm’s IC related to a MRO-based solution. He also established and led Ernst and Young’s formal presence in Latin America for Aviation prior to E&Y Consulting’s acquisition by Cap Gemini. Mr. Bohlman began his career with IBM’s professional services division and was one of the founding members of IBM Consulting Group.
Mr. Bohlman earned his undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University, and is licensed as a registered investment banking representative with FINRA Series 7, 63, 24, 79 and 99 credentials.
