Capacity Database

The Capacity Database provides carrier and aircraft specific data with an extensive coverage of worldwide scheduled cargo capacity. It has proven its use in decisions related to competitor assessment, network deployment, evaluation of quality and capacity. In combination with the Trade Database, the data contained in the Capacity Database supports decisions to deal with overcapacity or markets that are underserved.

The Capacity Database is:

Comprehensive – The majority of airlines’ scheduled capacity on a point-to-point airport level per carrier is covered. A distinction is made between passenger belly holds and freighters, with a possibility to drill down to aircraft type. Measures are provided in metric tons and cubic meters. Data is available as of 2007.

Reliable –Extensive volumetric and load capacity research is conducted to provide a unique global capacity overview using payload range curves and passenger load factors. Schedule data is directly obtained from airlines.

Up-to-date – Data is frequently updated and made available in a short time frame due to automated procedures translating schedule changes into cargo capacity.

User-friendly – data is made effortless with the use of Cognos business intelligence software.

The Capacity Database is provided in partnership with Innovata; a global leader in travel related content management, content distribution, as well as travel planning solutions utilizing this content. Its schedule database contains over 99% of all flight schedules worldwide with over 900 airlines participating and updating it directly. Approximately 90% of the database is updated and refreshed each week.
