Second Year Analyst, Investment Banking

Job Description:
The Investment Banking Second Year Analyst will support senior bankers both in transaction execution, as well as development of new business proposals (i.e. “pitch books”). Common tasks include development of financial projection models and pro forma analysis, maintenance of comparable companies and precedent transactions analysis (i.e. “the comps”), and preparation of offering memoranda and management/investor presentations. Typical projects include strategic and financial advisory in the context of mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, leasing and private placements of equity and debt.

Requirements:
To qualify for an interview, candidates must have:

  • B.B.A, B.A. or B.S. degree with an exceptional academic record
  • At least one year of experience at an investment bank/financial institution
  • Thorough understanding of corporate finance fundamentals and investment banking transaction processes
  • Working knowledge of accounting concepts, financial statement relationships, and traditional valuation methodologies
  • Excellent financial modeling skills, including creating complex financial models for sensitivity analysis, comparable company analysis, accretion/dilution analysis, and valuation/DCF analysis
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative and conceptual skills
  • Self-motivation and initiative to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Capacity to multi-task
  • Track record of achievement in extracurricular and professional endeavors
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, primarily Excel and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to travel – many assignments involve travel to client locations
  • Experience/interest in transportation (particularly aviation) a plus
