Matthew Stone rejoined the Seabury Group in February 2002 and has responsibility for transaction structuring and execution, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions and private equity deals in the technology and aviation industries. Mr. Stone previously worked in the Corporate Development Group of Micron Technology, Inc. where he was responsible for coordinating strategic investments in and acquisitions of private and public semiconductor companies. Prior to Micron, Mr. Stone served as Vice President of Business Strategy for 1GlobalPlace, Inc., a leading provider of international domain registrations. At 1GlobalPlace, Mr. Stone directed the company's capital raising efforts resulting in Series A and Series B investments from prominent international venture capital funds. Additionally, Mr. Stone advised 1GlobalPlace on the acquisition by Verisign in December 2001. Prior to 1GlobalPlace, Mr. Stone was a founding partner of the Seabury Group where he was deal team leader or co-leader on more than $100 million of private equity transactions for companies in the airline, software and e-travel industries. While at Seabury, Mr. Stone also worked on a number of M&A assignments in the aviation industry including the sale of a significant minority stake in a large South American carrier and the acquisition of a major U.S.-based airline. Mr. Stone started his investment-banking career at Fieldstone Private Capital Group where he assisted on over $2 billion of structured, corporate and project finance transactions. Mr. Stone was graduated magna cum laude with an M.B.A. from The Anderson School at UCLA and cum laude with a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Stone is a NASD Registered Representative, and is Series 7 and 63 qualified. |
