Airline Analyst / Associate

About the position:
The Seabury Group is currently seeking highly motivated individuals to
join the Houston, TX office as analysts or associates (depending on experience
level) in the Corporate Advisory Group. Analysts/Associates will assist
in the development of airline financial models and business plans, preparation
of offering memoranda and management/investor presentations, restructuring
related assignments and aircraft related matters. Typical projects include
developing financial projections and performing analytics to support a
variety of broader Seabury assignments, including due diligence evaluations
on behalf of prospective investors, business plan development for start-up
carriers, or financial restructurings. Day-to-day activities include data
gathering, market research and benchmarking, valuation, sensitivity analyses,
and building financial and other models in Microsoft Excel.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor degree with an exceptional academic record; MBA (or other
Masters’ degree) a plus
- Two or more years experience (airline experience a plus), in an analytically
focused role, in either the finance, consulting, engineering or aviation
industry.
- Business acumen, and the ability to deliver insights / recommendations
based on analysis
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative and conceptual skills, preferably
including strong Excel modeling experience
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, primarily Excel
and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivation and initiative to work independently, as well as part
of a team
- Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines while still
delivering a high-quality product
- Willingness to travel - many assignments involve travel to client
locations both within the US and internationally
- Experience/interest in transportation (particularly aviation) a plus
- Financial modeling and coursework in finance or accounting experience
a plus
- Track record of achievement in extracurricular and professional endeavors
- U.S. citizenship or valid work permit for the U.S. (e.g. H1-B visa)
