Mike Cox joined the Seabury Group as a partner in April 1998. He has over 20 years of airline and aviation-related experience. At Seabury, Mr. Cox has advised numerous airline clients on a variety of projects, including airline treasury, corporate finance, and airline restructuring. He currently is advising Air Canada in its restructuring efforts. Recent engagements have included leading the Seabury team in successfully restructuring the airfreight operators Kitty Hawk, Inc. (2002) and Gemini Air Cargo (2006). Mr. Cox also led the $8 billion aircraft debt/lease restructuring effort for US Airways Group, Inc., Air Canada and most recently Northwest Airlines. In addition, he led the due diligence for the investor group in its acquisition of VARIG and is currently leading Seabury’s comprehensive restructuring of South African Airways. Prior to joining Seabury, Mr. Cox was a Director at Price Waterhouse LLP where he led the aviation consulting/restructuring group. Prior to joining Price Waterhouse in 1995, Mr. Cox worked for Continental Airlines, Inc. for 11 years where he served in a variety of financial positions including Vice President and Treasurer. At Continental he initiated and structured numerous financings to increase cash reserves and finance fleet acquisitions. He also led negotiations for a variety of financial instruments including leveraged leases, tax leases, operating leases, secured debt, DIP financing, common stock equity offerings, public debt offerings and IRB financing. Mr. Cox received his M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the University
of Texas, Austin, and his B.B.A in Business Management from Texas A&M
University where he was graduated magna cum laude. Mr. Cox is a NASD Registered
Representative, and is Series 7 and 63 qualified.
