Luca Bettini joined the firm as partner in October 1999 with more than 20 years of investment banking and corporate finance experience in the aviation and aerospace industries. He is a Senior Advisor, with responsibility for a variety of transportation engagements. Mr. Bettini has been involved in various assignments including the out-of-court restructuring of America West Airlines and Air Jamaica, as well as the advisory in connection with the Chapter 11 of Avianca. He was formerly Managing Director at CIBC Oppenheimer / CIBC World Markets where he was responsible for its transportation and defense investment banking practice worldwide. At CIBC, he led several financial and strategic advisory mandates and debt and equity financings with a number of clients including Aerolineas Centrales de Colombia (ACES), America West Airlines, Inc., Amtran, Atlantic Southeast Airlines, Atlas Air, Continental Airlines, Copa, Lan Chile, Pelangi, Thai Airways, WestJet World Airways, Mercury Air Group and Atlas Air. Until 1996, Mr. Bettini served as Vice President in the Aerospace Group at The Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A. During his 12-year tenure at Chase, he was responsible for financial advisory to transportation companies and industry lenders globally and for marketing the firm's corporate finance capabilities to several multinational corporations. In that capacity, in addition to traditional financing activities, Mr. Bettini executed on a number of restructurings either as principal or as advisory for a number of clients including America West, Continental Airlines, Garuda, Kawasaki Leasing, Mexicana and Teekay Shipping. Mr. Bettini has a B.S. in Management and Operations Management from the University of Massachusetts and holds an M.B.A. in Finance from New York University. Mr. Bettini is a NASD Registered Principal, and is Series 7, 63 and 24 qualified. |
