Cargo Databases

Seabury provides the world's leading cargo demand and supply databases. Top performing firms from all segments of the supply chain - integrators, airlines, airports, shipping lines, forwarders - are long-term subscribers to Seabury's databases.

Clients use the databases for a variety of purposes: business development, market research, fleet & network planning, sales steering, and strategy development. The databases are outstanding in terms of comprehensiveness, reliability, ease-of-use, and timeliness. Available subscriptions are:

Trade – World air and ocean trade volumes are captured for over 200 countries from 1994 onwards. Data is available on a country to country level, with further breakdowns into customs districts for the largest freight consumption and production markets. Types of goods are provided at an unmatched level of detail for 2000 commodities.

Ocean – A Seabury product developed for the maritime industry containing ocean trade volumes from 2000 onwards. The volumes are categorized by containerized, bulk, and liquid movements. It displays the volumes in weight, value of the goods, and number of TEU.

Express – The express database adds another dimension to the long-established trade data in terms of type of express products, weight & value splits, and number of shipments. Moreover, accurate low value shipments calculations are included.

Capacity – The capacity database provides airline and aircraft specific data of worldwide scheduled cargo capacity per route from 2007 onwards. Measures are in metric tons and cubic meters with the possibility to distinguish aircraft type, model, and configuration.

Traffic – Global airport-to-airport cargo traffic volumes transported by more than 150 reporting airlines make up the Traffic Database. The actual flown volumes can be specified for the type of operation: freighter or belly.

Each database can be tailored to meet individual needs and to increase compatibility with existing in-house databases. In addition, Trade and Express subscriptions can be extended with a 5-year forecasting module.
