Job Summary:
The Investment Banking Analyst will support senior bankers both in transaction execution, as well as development of new business proposals (i.e. "pitch books"). Common tasks include development of financial projection models and pro forma analysis, maintenance of comparable companies and precedent transactions analysis (i.e. "the comps"), and preparation of offering memoranda and management/investor presentations. Typical projects include strategic and financial advisory in the context of mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, leasing and private placements of equity and debt.

Principle Areas of Responsibility and Accountability:

• Prepare complex financial analyses and models
• Support senior bankers in researching and creating marketing pitch materials, building financial models to value potential clients, and researching industries or sectors as determined by senior bankers in targeting certain clients
• Responsible for financial analysis, model creation, drafting memoranda, due diligence, attending client meetings and drafting sessions, creating data rooms, and any other support services required to assist in closing an engagement
• Research potential buyers/investors and participate in marketing activities

Required Experience, Qualifications, and Skills:

• Excellent Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Words skills
• Strong financial modeling aptitude; outstanding competency in financial modeling, valuations and financial analysis
• Superior communication skills, written and verbal
• Highly motivated and able to work independently within a close knit team environment
• Critical thinking capability with the ability to quickly and accurately evaluate and analyze companies and financial information
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Thorough understanding of corporate finance fundamentals and investment banking transaction processes

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree with an exceptional academic record
• Must have at least 1 year of investment banking experience
• Previous transportation experience a plus
• Willingness to travel (up to 25%)
